Meet the Authors

Murat Erder

Murat Erder has over 25 years’ experience working for software providers, consultancies, and global banks. His roles have ranged from developer to architect, and consultant to CTO. He is co-author of Continuous Architecture (2015) and the upcoming Continuous Architecture in Practice (2021) books which focus on architecture in the world of agile, DevOps and cloud.

Currently Murat Erder is a Director at Deutsche Bank. In this role, Murat is the CTO for the HR, Legal and Corporate Communications at Deutsche Bank responsible for all aspects of the architecture including data, application and technology.

Other roles Murat held at Deutsche Bank include working in the Chief Data Office during the initial setup and leading the Integration Services platforms. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Murat worked for 13 years for management consulting organizations, including KPMG/BearingPoint and Deloitte providing architecture and technology strategy advice to leading Financial Services organizations. Murat started his career as a software developer in Silicon Valley and was employed as a Software Development Lifecycle and Object Oriented Analysis and Design specialist by Objectory and Rational.

Murat is a graduate of the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey and has a MS degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Massachusetts. He currently resides in London, UK.

Pierre Pureur

Pierre Pureur is an experienced software architect, with extensive innovation and application development background, vast exposure to the financial services industry,
broad consulting experience and comprehensive technology infrastructure knowledge.

His past roles include serving as Chief Enterprise Architect for a major financial services company, leading large architecture teams, managing large-scale concurrent application development projects and directing innovation initiatives, as well as developing strategies and business plans. He is coauthor of the book Continuous Architecture: Sustainable Architecture in an Agile and Cloud-Centric World (2015) and has published many articles and presented at multiple software architecture
conferences on this topic.

Pierre is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Superieure Des Mines (St Etienne, France), a member of the IEEE Computer Society and resides in Glastonbury, CT. He sails his Pearson 303 “La Vie En Rose” out of Mystic, CT.

Eoin Woods

Eoin Woods is the Chief Technology Officer for the NYSE listed software engineering firm Endava. Eoin is responsible for setting the technical direction for the firm, working with its major clients and guiding the development of Endava’s technical delivery capability through the team of Group Heads of Disciplines and Capabilities that he is privileged to lead.

Prior to Endava, Eoin has worked in the software engineering industry for 20 years, across product and end-user organisations, from building widely used system software, including Tuxedo and the Sybase database, through to mission critical enterprise systems in the financial domain for UBS and Barclays Global Investors (now BlackRock). His main professional interests are software architecture, software security and the energy efficiency of software.

Eoin is a graduate of Brunel, Manchester and UEL universities in the UK, a UK chartered engineer, a chartered member of the IET and a chartered fellow of the BCS. He was the recipient of the 2018 Linda M. Northrop Award for Software Architecture, awarded by the SEI at CMU.
